Nearbyish Ham Repeaters

The canonical source of repeaters in the area is nerepeaters.com. This page is a compilation of ones I’ve got programmed in the radio.

6 meters

Need to set up a radio here! But in theory, these should be good. Standard offset is 1 MHz.

Coverage Plots for 6 meters

These are based on Radio Mobile Online and set to show 80% reliability to a mobile station. Note that these aren’t all using the same base map / zoom level.

These read horizontally. It seemed like a good idea at the time…

51.64 Ossipee

Weird 500 kHz split. I wish more clubs gave detailed information on their repeaters like this. I’m not really in its coverage area, but it’s otherwise a quite wide area.

53.23 Mt. Greylock Coverage Prediction

This makes a lot of uninformed (but hopefully reasonable) assumptions about antenna height, power output, and gain.

Even down at 6 meters, the model shows 25 dB path loss to my QTH, but it ought to arrive right around -100 dBm.

53.27 Coverage Prediction

Assuming this is on Nobscot Hill, and inferring a 100′ AGL height. Could be optimistic. But a great site.

53.31 Mt. Wachusett

There’s not a whole lot known about this repeater. But assuming a 4 dBi antenna, 50W out, and an antenna 4m AGL, coverage is… very good.

53.41 Brookline

Seems to overlap a lot with the Pepperell machine, but with a little better coverage to the east.

53.77 Coverage Prediction

CNHARC’s prediction is considerably more conservative.

53.81 Coverage Map

It looks like it’s on a small pole, but between the site and the 350W output power, this seems to get out. A PL of 100.0 Hz instead of 71.9 Hz uses the receive site at Marlboro West.

53.89 Coverage Prediction

The N1MNX site provides some good details so this should be somewhat realistic.
