I now own a couple of these, one 403-470 MHZ and one 450-512 MHz. As of early 2023, they’re going for $100-150 on eBay.
Mine are both the “LS+” model, the CDM1550LS. These support LTR (and Passport?) trunking in addition to conventional. (On the HT1250 portables, the “LS” models seem quite limited on conventional; I can fit plenty of conventional channels in my CDM.)
As always, W9CR’s site has a great Waris page on these. (“Waris” being the model name for the CDM and HT line.) He also provides the best documentation I’ve seen on moving the 220 MHz models into the ham band. I had bought one naively assuming I could just hex-edit CPS. People have apparently had good luck with this, but I decided it was too much trouble and bought a Kenwood tribander.

MDC Call List
This is probably not of interest to most people, but the CDM1550 doesn’t seem to have any arbitrary limit on the number of MDC aliases (via a “Call List”). Frustratingly, my XTL1500 limited me to 50, but I now have more than 100 in this one. They’re all lumped together, but can be assigned to different IDs.
Note that, as best as I can tell, all Waris radios, if MDC1200 signaling is enabled, will accept a stun/kill command if one is sent. I have everything set RX-only, but also set the MDC ID to some random value in case some goofball sends an inhibit command to 0001 or whatnot.
CPS version and narrowbanding
AFAICT, CPS 6.12.05 is the last version that supported wideband channels. Versions 6.12.08 and 6.12.09 are out there, but will only allow programming 12.5 kHz-spaced channels. I have been told, but don’t desire to independently verify, that once this happens, you can’t go back.
GMRS and most ham FM remains wideband, so I recommend not installing anything newer than 6.12.05.
